Bacalhau à brás (cod to bras) is a classic recipe of Portuguese cuisine. It is easy to cook and very tasty.


  • 400g of shredded and soaked cod;
  • 500g of Potatoes;
  • 6 eggs;
  • 1 onion;
  • 2 garlic cloves;
  • Salt;
  • Black Pepper;
  • Olive oil;
  • Parsley;
  • Black olives.



  1. Cut the onion into thin slices and mince the garlic. Put the oil, onion and garlic in a frying pan and let it sauté slowly. Add the shredded cod and stir with a spoon so that it is well wrapped in the oil.
  2. Cut the potatoes into thin sticks and add salt. Fry the potatoes a little and add the potatoes to the cod.
  3. Beat the eggs with a fork and season with black pepper. Place the eggs in the frying pan and wrap them with all the ingredients.
  4. Stir with a spoon and, as soon as the eggs are in cream, but cooked, immediately remove the pan from the heat and place the cod on a platter.
  5. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve very hot with olives.
