Fulbright Schuman Program

The Fulbright Schuman Program awards scholarships to European Citizens for research in the United States with a focus on EU affairs/ policy or the US-EU transatlantic agenda.
Grants for (Pre)Doctoral Research
Requirements: Citizenship in an EU Member State; Proficiency in English; Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; Academic/professional experience of 3+ months in two or more EU Member States recommended; Academic excellence generally defined as a distinction in each year of study or in the final year of study; please note that candidates without these grades are still encouraged to apply if they have outstanding personal or professional backgrounds.
Duration: 4 months – one academic year (9 months).
Financial Support: Scholarship of up to 2000 euro per month (USD equivalent); J-1 visa sponsorship; ravel stipend of 2000 euro (USD equivalent); and others benefits.
How to apply: Every applicant needs to complete an online application in English by noon (Central European Time) on December 1 including the required documents.

Grants for Post-Doctoral Research and Lecturing
Requirements: Citizenship in an EU Member State; Proficiency in English; Minimum of a doctoral degree (PhD); Academic/professional experience of 3+ months in two or more EU Member States recommended; Academic excellence or outstanding personal/professional background
Duration: 3 months – one academic year (9 months).
Financial Support: Scholarship of up to 3000 euro per month (USD equivalent); J-1 visa sponsorship; Travel stipend of 2000 euro (USD equivalent); and others benefits.

Grants for International Educators
Description: Fulbright Schuman awards scholarships to international education professionals at European universities who are interested in conducting research at a U.S. university on an issue related to international higher education and/or best practices in this field.
Requirements: Citizenship in an EU Member State; Proficiency in English; Candidates do not need to hold a PhD but must have a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of experience in the field of international education; Academic/professional experience of 3+ months in two or more EU Member States recommended; Academic excellence or outstanding personal/professional background.
Duration: 3 months – one academic year (9 months).
Financial Support: Scholarship of up to 3000 euro per month (USD equivalent); J-1 visa sponsorship; Travel stipend of 2000 euro (USD equivalent); and others benefits.

Grants for Innovation
Description: The Innovation grants are designed to support work that can create better transatlantic understanding of issues at the heart of the U.S.-EU relationship, particularly at the intersection of policy and technology. This award will give preference to proposals focused on EU or U.S.-EU approaches to innovative technologies and business models and their integration with new and existing policies and regulations.
