Link between Health and Learning a Language

It may be seen very interesting, though; in order to be able to have much more a healthy brain and enjoyable life we have to take a path of learning a new language. Some researches have strong evidences in relation to knowing language benefits on human life.
Although it is seen in the usual course of life, learning a foreign language is one of the most important decisions we make throughout our lives. Because learning a foreign language will occupy us for a long time, no matter what level it is, it is always an action to be felt. Especially, if the foreign
language we learn finds use in our daily lives, it becomes even more important.
The era we are in is called the information age and points to a period without actual boundaries. This is only possible through the sharing of information and the common languages. Being a citizen of the world which can be gained second language is one of the most important characteristics of today’s youth and it is possible to benefit from the unlimited opportunities offered by the citizenship of the world by knowing at least one or even two foreign languages.
In addition; learning a language gives us a culture. The language and culture we learn cause changes both in our personality and in our lives. You might think of it as winning a “second soul”… Let’s take a closer look at the benefits of knowing second language for the human mind. According
to scientists’ various researches on learning a new language, a condition that improves the brain structure and learning a new language, whether we are 5 or 95, changes the brain structure and this allows us to have stronger control over our attention. With that we can adapt more easily to unexpected situations. Research shows that multilingual individuals are less likely to suffer from diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Dementia.
In short, knowing a new language not only gives you a new personality or lots of novelties with new culture but also it is as healthy as eating well and doing sport 🙂
